The Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007 took effect on 6th April 2008 and was a landmark in UK Law. Companies and organisations since then can be found guilty of Corporate Manslaughter as a result of serious management failures resulting in a gross breach of a relevant duty of care. Most significantly is the requirement of each company to ensure that any individual who drives in the course of their job or for business purposes must have their competency assessed.
